When you’re Dormie, you can’t be beat!

About Us

This Dormie Doris website is dedicated to all woman golfers that enjoy the complete golf experience which includes friends, golf, shopping, snacks or meals, the 19th hole, and the occasional spa treatment.

The idea for this website has been in the planning for many years and was originally called RedTeeRatings. The name Dormie Doris came into existence after the first (to my knowledge) Doris Tournament held about 12 years ago. The purpose of this website is to rate the attributes of golf courses that go beyond just the Slope Rating, the design of the course, the type of grass and the hole by hole description. Those points are described on every website and brochure or any man that has played the course at least once will be delighted to fill you in.

Need to Know Info about golf courses from the woman’s perspective!

• What is going to distract me on the course, referred to as scenic handicaps?

• How clean and how frequent are the bathrooms on the course.

• What holes are going to kick my behind? Potential problems or nemesis holes. o If this is Slope rating of 150, do I really want to challenge myself or should I visit the spa or keep a good table at the 19th hole instead?

• How are the hotdogs or food in general? I love hotdogs and food in general and this does influence my returning to a course.

• Extra credit goes for good 19th hole venues.

• Extra credit for content and frequency of the beverage carts and snack shops.

• Last but not least, since it’s the first thing I do when checking in at the pro-shop, “how is the shopping”? How much merchandise is there to choose from, do they have good sales, and do they cater to women of all sizes?

I’m not going to touch on the topic of Course Marshall’s as it can be dependent on the person or the day. Besides that, I try to keep a positive attitude about the whole situation. Much of the following information is current although some of it dates a couple of years. We invite you to comment on the courses already here and to send information on courses you play. Together we can make this THE SOURCE for everything a woman wants to know about a course before committing 5 hours to the experience, not to mention the time it takes to get ready.
